1. In 10369/55 304 Ber the Estimates for the Colony of Hongkong for the Year 1856.
The gross estimated Revenue is £32,000 being £1,195 18. 16. 60/4 more than the Receipts of the Year 1854, or £7,806 more than originally estimated for the year 1855.
2. That the sum of £32,000 will be realized in the next year is almost certain; it is most likely that the actual receipts will exceed this by a couple of thousand pounds; but it would, at this period, not be prudent to calculate on it.
3. The most gratifying and satisfactory point in the Estimate is the continual steady increase under the item of Revenue from Lands as stated in the Estimate.
4. At the commencement of the current year, the Annual Rent, as shown in the
